Terras de Compostela covers two complete counties and part of another province of A Coruña: the municipality of Santiago with councils of Ames, Boqueijón Brión, Santiago de Compostela, Teo, Val do Dubra e Vedra. A Barcala composed A Baña and Negreira councils and the Town Hall of Santa Comba belonging to Coruña province region.
The overall objective of this project is the study of the introduction of the cultivation of a variety of linseed, rich in omega 3, for animal and human consumption thus getting an alternative of agricultural land use, the enhancement of quality production and economic diversification for the invigoration of the rural environment that contributes to the improvement in the quality of life and the fixing of its population within a framework of sustainable development.
Each year, agricultural and livestock holdings are abandoned in Galicia, vertiginous, being the majority of cases in areas of interior, inside of which also affected the territory of Terras de Compostela pace.
